Example Calculation
For a resistor with the color bands: Red, Red, Brown, Gold:
- Red (2), Red (2), Brown (×101), Gold (±5%)
- Resistance = 22 × 10 = 220 ohms with a tolerance of ±5%.

Understanding Inches and the Conversion Calculator
The concept of an inch is to divide a unit into equal parts.
An inch can be divided into 64, 32, 16, 8, or 4 parts.
Dividing an inch into 64 parts is practical for applications requiring a high level of precision.
Above 64 parts like 128 or 256 parts is not practical for everyday measuring tasks.
